Please review these eligibility, submission and other requirements carefully before submitting your application.

ASTS continues its commitment to provide qualified ASTS Members with research funding in the field of organ transplantation. It is designed to support a junior faculty member in the development of transplant research so that further funding can be obtained.

The applicant should explore the potential utility of specific non-invasive biomarkers offered as diagnostic tests. Such tests include, but are not limited to, tests for surveillance of kidney transplant recipients with stable renal function, the cell free DNA assays for ruling out acute rejection in patients suspected of rejecting, as well as other tests that may be released in the future.  The applicant may propose to investigate surveillance of stable patients, prediction or diagnosis of rejection, response to therapy, prognosis, and/or function/outcome of grafts. Both observational and interventional studies are encouraged, as well as investigation of new indications for use.

Amount: $50,000 per year for 2 years; up to an additional $50,000 per year for 2 years in-kind support is available upon request
